I had to write you. I saw your address on the back of a car while driving down Sunrise Highway this weekend. I thought that I was the only person that hates Otis Ford. Once I saw your website, I understand that Otis doesn’t value customers. I like how you picketed with signs. My husband would gladly join you in your endeavors. He has actually threatened them with picketing the dealership. I’m glad someone has already done it. I just wish that more people knew so that they
would go out of business.
My problem with Otis has been going on for over a year. I have called Ford directly in Detroit a dozen times, called the dealer where I bought my car, called Otis and talked to everyone who works there, and have been down to Otis more times than I can count. My problem is with the body Shop. Dennis is the rudest SOB and tells me that my problem is not his problem and that he can’t do anything about it.
I bought my car (a Mountaineer) from my father-in-law off his lease when it was 2 and half years old. It had 34,000 miles on it. My father-in-law took immaculate care of the car, garaged the car, and always kept it clean. Well as soon as I bought the car the rear bumper was rusting. I told them (Riverhead ford) to fix it because a car that was 2 and a half years old with 34,000 miles on it shouldn’t rust. Well they agreed to pay for half of the work, but that Otis Ford had to
do it. Well my saga at Otis began. They removed my rear bumper to paint it, and it hasn’t been the same since. When they put the bumper back on they didn’t do it right and has now ruined the side panels of my car due to the bumper rubbing up and down. The bumper cover can not be put back on because it doesn’t fit. They have ordered and tried to put on 5 bumper covers, all of which ripped. Because the bumper cover hasn’t been on correctly for the past few years,
the redone bumper has rusted again, worse than it originally was. TO this day Dennis said there is a “design flaw” and that they can’t do anything about it. Because of this experience, I will never buy a ford again, and highly doubt I will ever buy an American car again. |

I was looking over your website. I also am familiar with your campaign as I have seen you & your car numerous times over the years. I can sympathize with your plight as Otis Ford once sold me a lemon as well. (Was the worst car I ever had.)
Thanks For Listening |

I have had a bad experience with Otis Ford. The management was rude and mean to me on one occasion with a particular situation and when I saw your website advertised on a vehicle in Hampton Bays I decided to look at it. I agree with you Otis Ford does suck. The way they treat people down in Customer Service. I support you and I hope Otis Ford realizes their problems because I will not go to them for service any kind and I am sure other people have had negative experiences with them also.
Thanks |

We had used Otis Ford for car repairs in the past and they provided us with a loaner car even though we did not purchase our Ford from them. We needed to have our car repaired again and they refused to lend us a loaner. The General Manager was rude and very mean to me on the telephone. We did not bring our car to get fixed at Otis Ford, we are using a garage in Hampton Bays. It was very upsetting to be treated so horribly and to be spoken to in such a crude manner. We will never use Otis Ford again. I even emailed them and wrote about what happened. No reply from them. I even mentioned to them that we are in the market for a new vehicle and that we will not be considering their establishment. I hope that someone gets enough attention to the proper authorities to have them investigated. |

I bought a used van from Otis and repeatedly brought it back to have the side door lock fixed and finally gave up because they never fixed it even though every time I was told it was done. I brought a Taurus in because of running problems and every time I was told it was fixed within a day I was stuck again somewhere with the car. The final time the Taurus was there I got it back with the wiring under the hood all patched back together due to them cutting it for who knows what reason and it still wasn't right! I would never buy anything from them again. The service there truly sucks! |

I wish I was aware of all your problems before I let my husband purchase a vehicle from these a@#holes! We recently purchased a used Ford F-150 4 wheel drive pickup from Otis. Only to find out that the windows (all of the windows including the mirrors) have some kind of film on them that cannot be removed with anything!! We have tried everything to remove the film and paid a lot of money. We contacted our salesperson (who did much than his commission paid-that's for sure!!!) with no response. I recently wrote them a letter asking them to replace the glass and the mirrors, because we took the vehicle to a specialist on their recommendation. The glass specialist told us the only remedy to this situation was to replace the glass, and by the way "Good luck trying to get that with Otis Ford!!" This is a $20k vehicle, it's not like we bought a $5k vehicle and expect it to be perfect. I am pissed! My husband says we should just live with it-I am helping pay for this, I am not going to "just live with it, without saying something first!!!" I know you hear me, at least you can relate.

Thank you so much for sharing this info with us. Otis Ford has recently (Feb 03) opened another extension to their body shop "***** *******". We, being the only ***** ***** dealer on the Island have also fallen into the shadows of their work. They are offering the wrong information and fighting us in a price war instead of working with us as a partner in product. We have heard so many problems about this dealership. Lots of luck to you and if we hear of any specifics to pass on you can count on us. Maybe more people will fight back at this type of crap that goes on. You are a strong stepping stone in a society of whiners not doers. THANK YOU!!!!! |

I have been ripped off by Otis Ford's inferior service dept.
I brought my Ford to Otis Ford service dept. because the two power windows would not go up at times. They fixed it and it worked for one week. When I brought it back and told them that the problem came back, the desk person in the service department told me that I should oil the windows.
Well to make a long story short, I brought my Ford to another Ford dealership for the same problem, they fixed it and the problem never came back. |

I hate how I was treated as a customer. Don't get me wrong. I hated the fact that I had to drive all the way to Quogue a half dozen times to get my car fixed and that people were unpleasant and gave me the run around. The biggest run around I got was from Ford itself. That is why I will NEVER buy a Ford product again!!! |

Make a long story short..... in 1984 I bought a Mustang from them. Paid cash. Broke down the next day. Broke down continuosly for the next several yrs that I owned it. Worst car I ever had. I never spent so much time WALKING as when I owned that car.
Now I own a Toyota. Very, very satisfied with it. In the market for a Camry at the present time. |

I have to admit that when I first saw you standing on the corner of Montauk Highway and Springville Road I thought you were nuts. My deepest apology, I to have been victimized by OTIS Ford. I dropped my Explorer off for service and received a call about five hours later from the service writer saying that I needed brakes and tires. He went on to say that the cost would be between $600.00 and $1,000.00. I agreed to this amount and caught my plane. I asked my daughter to pick-up my car and left her a blank check. When she called me and said that she wrote the check for $2,111.65 I immediately called OTIS, but it was Saturday afternoon and no one was there. I called Monday morning but the service writer was not there. I then called my bank and placed a stop on my check.
When OTIS finally called me back I explained my conversation with service, they then had Terry call me back and said that I must have misunderstood. I explained that my wife had herd the same conversation I did because I was on my cell phone in the car when he called. It is a big misunderstanding from $600.00 to $1,000.00 too $2,111.65 I don not think I could misunderstand that much.
After some back and forth conversation between my attorney and OTIS Ford’s attorney, they sent me a summons and complaint to Justice Court in Southampton. I answered the summons and went to court only to find that OTIS never purchased a complaint number, nor did they show in court.
I should have started this letter off not only with my apology, but also admitting that I purchased TWO Explorers’ after 9/11 and leased a Lincoln in December 2001. I did not listen before, but if they would do this to me, what will they do to a single car purchaser. Thank you for bring there deceptive actions to the forefront.
Best regards,
"I was robbed". |

Dear Mark,
I read your website and sympathize with your plight. I know others who have had the same experience at Otis. As you well know, you are not alone. If many of these stay at home, sexually frustrated, moms on this board took the time to actually READ all the correspondence and documents (however, from many of their immature postings, their attention span is probably similar to that of their 6 year olds), they wouldn't be so quick to dismiss your efforts. Thanks for going against the system.
Best of luck.

We brought our Tribute 2001 to Dennis in the body shop. They did a paint job for my ins. company on it. Within 3 months, the clear coat started falling off. So we called our ins. company, and they told us to bring it back. They have to fix it to our satisfaction. Ok, we took it back. They fixed what was peeling, 3 months to the day, paint was peeling in the same spots. We bring it back to them again. I'm out a ride for 3 weeks. When we go to pick it up, we found dents in hood and rear quarter panels, that weren't there when they got it. So we refused to accept my Tribute. We showed the manager the damage. He said to leave it there, and he would speak to Dennis on Monday. So Monday came around, and my hubby decided to take the day off from work, and go and talk to Dennis in person. He told my hubby to take my f**king truck, and get the f**k out, and to not f**king come back. So we called ins. company. Told them what he said, they sent us to another body shop. They ended up having to strip entire thing, and repaint it. I think Dennis needs to be fired, and Otis out of business. Thanks for reading. |

I was thinking of buying a 2007 Ford product because I had purchased, back in 1998, a Mercury Mystique Import. " Import" because those Mexican's really know how to build a car. After 100k it needed only a new tranny, otherwise a decent car. Incidentally I bought it out in Southold at Lucas Ford which has been courteous and truthful in all our dealings with them, unlike your well documented experience with the crooks at Otis. After seeing your experience I will stick to a new Honda or Toyota. Judging by the ocean of red ink flowing from Ford it is either going down the drain or will be absorbed by the foreign car makers that Ford and GM have been turning their industry over to these last few decades. As for Otis, my family never even considered them when I bought the Mercury back in 98. Thanks for caring enough to warn the rest of us.

I had seen you picketing and understand your anger. They sold me a Thunderbird car that had been in an accident and repaired by them and I couldn’t even sell it when I wanted to. Got arrested for DWI due to that car even though it was the cars fault. The brakes locked up and at 9:30 at night I was not stopping on the side of the road. Trooper saw me driving down the right side of the road and pulled me over. $7000 to defend myself over something that I was innocent of. Odd how a lawyer (now a judge) can get a person a guilty of vehicular manslaughter off but an innocent person he couldn’t. They are all in bed together!
Most recently I went to purchase a Sport Trac they have in the lot. Given a price of $29,099. When I went to pick up the truck it was more than $3,000 above what we had agreed upon and that’s $100 a more a month in payments. Sorry I am not rich as the Otis crew as I can not lie, cheat and steal as they do. Now I have no vehicle, paying insurance on a vehicle because Otis Fraud has he plates and I can not cancel the insurance without turning in the plates. Ford says they are in independent dealer and have nothing to do with Otis Fraud. Thanks for listening. |

I want to start out by saying I wish I knew about this website before I brought my truck there. I have a GMC Sierra 3500 Diesel truck. My boyfriend brought the truck to Otis Ford on 5/4/07 Friday to get inspected since we just purchased it and our 10 day inspection sticker was going to be expired in a few days. We had a 2 inch crack on the top of the windshield by the rear view mirror. Chris from Otis Ford who supposely inspected the truck told my boyfriend that it wouldn't pass inspection because because the crack was too big, the front brakes were metal to metal, and that the highbeams didn't work. Now I work at DMV and also have friends that are certified mechanics they just don't do diesel inspections, as long as you don't have a crack more than 11'' and it isn't in the path of the windshield wipers you're ok. Well when my boyfriend looked at the crack when they drove the truck out of the shop my 2'' crack went to a 16'' crack, so the cracked my windshield over the limit so my truck wouldn't pass inspection and I would have to pay them to fix it (yeah right) When confronted and asked for the manager he came out and said the windshield was like that. My boyfriend drove the truck down to a car mechanic shop who took the tires off and said that the brakes are not metal to metal and should have passed inspection, and highbeams work. Needless to say I was suppose to go away for the weekend to pick up a camper that I brought and now can't get my truck inspected until I get a new windshield soonest is Tuesday 5/8/07 and I certaintly am not getting it done by them. Otis Ford SUCKS!!!!!!!!!

I laughed when I saw your sign, but you are right. Years ago I bought my first new car, a Ford Probe GT. Love the car; still have it for fun drives after a stressful day of work and it is still reliable. Anyway, when I was shopping for the car I had to compromise on the color because of the end of year promotion. Otis gave me a pretty good number right out of the box but I did not like any of the colors they had left in stock. I asked if they would check on the computer to see if there were any other cars available at other dealerships that might have my preferred color. This is a very common practice; dealers trade vehicles all the time. The salesperson stated "not without a deposit. Time is money". They were right. Syosset Ford gave me the time to look and they got my money. In fact, they also got my money when I bought another car four years later. Keep up the good work. I love a good "David and Goliath" story...

Otis Ford has not learned its lessons. It is still practicing fake repair jobs and screwing its customers. I have been a victim myself. I absolutely applaud the efforts of this crusader; however Biotic Green and Mr. Suffolk have some good points. The real story here is how the local police and local media and other "community leaders" have been helping Otis Ford fight this guy who is absolutely right in his complaints. It is the perfect example of how the establishment of the Hamptons area has complete control of everything and that the average citizen is lied to and cheated on a regular basis. . |

My first new car was the 94 mustang. Loved it untill it was totaled (sp?) by a blown head gasket in three years. That's right it cost more (Otis Ford) to repair it that the value of the car. I at first blamed Otis but I now realize that it was the Ford motor co. and Otis Ford. I wanted to buy American...I wish that they (WE) built better cars. I would not feel so robbed
